  Surgery performed
Calli (with her mother, Breann) underwent repair for an Atrial Ventrical Septal Defect.

Calli

Born in early 2004, Calli had her AV canal repaired at the age of four months. “She was doing just fine until she tore her sutures and needed more surgery,” says mom. “I guess her heart was just too strong!”

Little sister Montana (born after these photos were taken) also had heart surgery at four months. “Everything is fine now. They both have a normal life expectancy and I get lots of support from family and friends.”

While acknowledging the challenge of bringing up two children with special needs, Breann is grateful to those who saved her daughters’ lives. “The staff was great. Sherri and Becky were wonderful.

“And Calli is a great big sister. She almost loves the baby too much; she wants to do everything for me!”
