As a Physician's Assistant who has completed postgraduate surgical training, that still holds true. Bob sees patients before surgery, assists in the operating room during the procedure, and checks on your progress in the hospital from the time you're in intensive care until you're ready to go home.

"My role is the same as a senior resident in the hospital. I don't operate independently: I work under a supervising physician, and free him up to do more complex tasks."

"I enjoy my work very much. I knew I wasn't cut out for a business career; I like the people side of medicine."

Bob lived and worked in Florida for nearly two decades before moving to Illinois. He is the father of three busy teenage sons, and when there's time, he enjoys reading, biking and flying.
