"A big part of my job is educational; people about to have heart surgery often have lots of questions. Our patients know they can call me any time with any concerns."

Born and raised in Peoria, Sheri was a lead nurse in a hospital Coronary Care Unit before joining Illinois Cardiac Surgery. "I prefer to work with patients in an office environment. Here, we really get to spend time with each patient, in a one-on-one setting. I try hard to be a good listener and talk in a very honest, straightforward way."

Along with office personnel, Sheri will help you through the pre-and post-operative process, making certain that all studies and films are gathered and reviewed by the surgeons, and that all your tests are performed and analyzed.

"I love to help people, to anticipate their needs. That's why I became a nurse: seeing sick people get well is very important to me."

Sheri and her husband are the parents of a baby boy. Her life outside work revolves around them and Libby, a golden retriever.
